Program: “Annual Plant Swap”!!

Please bring plants you would like to share, individually potted, in plastic bags, or wrapped in newspaper, with price tags (suggested donation amounts) attached. As in previous years, plants will be displayed next to the parking lot. Seeds, books, and gently-used gardening equipment items are also welcome.

Selection and donations (cash or check only) will take place after the business meeting. We are not providing pre-swap reservations this year. However, if you already know what you plan to offer, please send the details to Program Chairs Chris Bachmann and/or Sue Gosnell so they can be shared with members for their garden planning.

Future Program Planning:

November 9th, 2026: Annual Fun(d)raiser
Start setting aside gardening items, decorative pieces, or gently used goods for our second annual club Fun(d)raiser. If you are a hobbyist or crafter, please consider donating one of your creations.

December 14th, 2026: Annual Greens/Decorations Workshop & Luncheon

Two things:

1. As we no longer have access to the Steve’s wonderful boxwood trimmings donation, please plan to prune any greens at your residence with our December 14 workshop in mind. Your trimmings can become another club member’s wreath or centerpiece, as well as your own!

2. And, secondly, in an effort to serve, as well as expand our presence in the community, we also at this meeting plan to construct some small mug-size arrangements of greens and dried flowers for gifting to loved ones’, friends, neighbors, etc in healthcare communities for their rooms. It will be a “make and take.” We also plan to make some for BMEC for their distribution, as well. If you will have dried flowers to offer, or plan to dry some, for this project, please contact Chris Bachmann. And we’ll use some of the members’ extra greens. Mugs, and any additional dried flower needs, will be provided by the club.

And just FYI, we are thankful for the folks who have planned to sign up to host, and hope you will volunteer if you haven’t already! BMGC provides the plates, utensils, napkins, and cups. The folks hosting for the day can bring a light snack and maybe something to drink, planning for about 15-20 people. Most members brown-bag it for their full lunches.

And on the days that we have a pot-luck, all that is needed would be to provide drinks and some set-up help. Easy. Fun to do as a team of two, but also often done Solo. Either way is fine!
