Program:  Annual Plant Swap!
This year, we are trying something slightly different – members are still welcome to bring any  garden-related items….. plants, seeds, tools, books, etc. – BUT this year, some members have volunteered ahead of time with items they are willing to dig up “on demand”.
AND – as always – there will also be some spur-of-the-moment donations, a grab-bag of beauty to choose from at our Swap on October 13th!

If you’re not in a position to donate plants or gardening-related items, please don’t fret – you can be supportive just by coming and browsing the offerings (or browsing online and “shopping” via email!)

Here’s a recent communication and some beautiful photos from Program Co-Chair Chris Bachmann:

Buck Mountain Garden Club friends,
Please find attached a 6-slide file of photos of plants, in various forms, for the Buck Mountain Club 2025 Plant Swap at our regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 13. (Please use these photos only for BMGC business – If you cannot open the attachment, let us know and a modified file will be sent to you.) Slightly different format this year to customize Plant Swap preparation.
The plants shown (tubers, rhizomes, root bulbs, seeds, saplings, etc) are being offered and will be dug at your request. If the number available is limited, it has been indicated. Please email your individual plant requests, and the number of each you would like, to Sue Gosnell or
Chris Bachmann.  Email contact info available in “Members-Only” section.
by Wednesday, October 1. Sue and I will tally your emailed requests, and notify the club as particular plants are no longer available. We will also notify the plant donors of the requests prior to our October 13 meeting .
Additional notes

Plant donors:
1. Pots and soil not required; moisture-wrapped in a plastic bag is sufficient.
2. Whether your plant offerings are requested or not, please feel free to bring them to the swap if you’d like.

“Swappers”:
1. Some plants have prices indicated, but not all . Expect $2-10 depending on size.
2. Plants on the slide that includes “Lots!”, please indicate how many you would like dug.
3. You do not have to attend the meeting to swap; just email. Deliveries can be arranged.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to email any questions,
Sue Gosnell and Chris Bachmann

And just FYI, we are thankful for the folks who have planned to sign up to Host, and hope you will volunteer if you haven’t already!  BMGC provides the plates, utensils, napkins, and cups, and the Hostess(es) bring a light snack and maybe something to drink, planning for about 15-20 people. Easy.  Fun to do as a team of two, but also often done Solo.  Either way is fine!   If you want to sign up, please contact list coordinator Laurie Hynes.
