Program: Weeds in the Garden: Identification and Management
Presented by Master Gardener Caroline Polk
The plants we don’t want are among a gardener’s biggest challenges. Piedmont Master Gardeners will help you win the “weed war” with advice and help on the following topics:
• Understanding weed biology and life cycle
• Identifying your weeds
• Practices and strategies for weed management
• Choosing tools to get the job done
• Preventing weeds.
Audience members are encouraged to bring questions about their own challenges, including photos at various times of the year.
If possible, images can be sent to either Sue Gosnell or Chris Bachmann, who can coordinate the sharing of the images and the questions – who knows? Maybe multiple members are fighting the same battles!

And just FYI, we are thankful for the folks who have planned to sign up to Host, and hope you will volunteer if you haven’t already! BMGC provides the plates, utensils, napkins, and cups, and the Hostess(es) bring a light snack and maybe something to drink, planning for about 15-20 people. Easy. Fun to do as a team of two, but also often done Solo. Either way is fine! If you want to sign up, please contact list coordinator Laurie Hynes.
